3D PRINTED HOLLOW FORM OBJECT: THE HYBRID
Hello again! These past weeks we’ve been working on our self supporting vessels in Rhino. I’ll be honest, at first I was unsure how to go about this assignment, however when it came to the hybrid stage with the support of my group mates we were able to create a load of strong prototypes and ideas! This project was really fun and a great way to learn from my peers during this pandemic :) Below ill show all the process and group work we created ! Big thank you to my group mates Kyle and Jillian

The hybrid stage:
In our first meeting we came together and started by brainstorming all our ideas, and figuring out common elements we all share and what makes each of our work’s unique. Jillian's works had a theme of vase like shapes with organic elements, Kyles were more Abstract and structured as he preferred the star shape, and mine focused on twists and drapery. Something we all loved were unique twist shapes and strong silhouettes and we wanted to find a good balance between a natural and non organic shape for our hybrid sketch’s and prototypes.

My Hybrid prototypes:
For my prototypes I wanted to focus in commonly used shapes between all of us and I made sure to check they all would print using the PrusaSlic3r software the most successful was the last prototype on the bottom right.

For our final design we found a way to incorporate all our unique styles and ideas into one final self supporting vessel. This design includes Kyle‘s abstract structured forms and star shaped bottom, A silhouette similar to Jillians early designs and organic fold I like drapery spiral similar to my first prototypes. I really think that this final work came out to be a great mix between all of our minds put together in our hybrid prototype stage I think there was a lot of other strong contester‘s as well. We’re happy to share our final product with you all and I hope you guys love it just as much as we do!
